Competitive Gymnastics for Beginners and Advanced Alike

USA Gymnastics Membership

You will be required to create a USA Gymnastics membership for each of your gymnasts before you can compete in any sanctioned meets. Membership is discounted for the first year for new gymnasts. USA Gymnastics provides educational materials and rules for your gymnasts' safety as well as guidelines to help keep gymnastics safe and fun for everyone!

Practice Times

Gymnasts will have much longer practices with the competition team. Lower levels will usually practice a couple days a week while upper levels can practice 5 days a week. Practice times can range from 2 hours to 5 hours. WGC and WGBA offers gymnasts an opportunity to build strong bonds with their teammates and coaches! Monthly cost is variable and can be discussed with WGC.

Routines

Your Gymnast will learn routines for each event: Bars, Beam, Floor, and Vault.  These will align with their level appropriate skills while also challenging them.

Apparel

WGBA will organize the order and collection of payment for the required and optional apparel, with sizing over the summer and apparel ordering before the meet season. Apparel items include: backpack, pants, shorts, competition leotard, exhibition leotard and a few other optional items. The average cost of all required apparel for a new gymnast is approximately $600.

Meets

The meet season will kick off with a WGC-only meet at our gym in late October or early November. Additional meets will run from November through March with State and Regionals wrapping up the season.

Meets are all optional and selected by the gymnast/parents. The average cost of a meet is approximately $125-$150 each with a normal season consisting of 6 to 10 meets each season. Meets for lower levels will typically stay close with the furthest meets being within a few hours drive.

Is it expensive? Yes. Is it rewarding? Yes. Are there financial support opportunities? Heck Yes!

One of Wichita Gymnastics Booster Association's strengths is providing fundraising opportunities to parents and gymnasts to help alleviate the financial burden.

See all the ways you can earn tax-free funds to support what your athlete loves!
